MAKEUP IS MADE FOR EVERYONE

Living in a world where people have to fight for their authenticity is exhausting. Makeup is an art form in itself, cultivating freedom of expression, using your face or body as the real-life canvas. The transgender community in advertising has become more integrated over time, yet the world still has opportunity to do better.

Inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings such as “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli + “The Creation of Adam” by Michelangelo. Both symbolizing Feminine & Masculine energy. The third painting I was unable to find the artist, however it embodies gender neutrality.

The three collages became the starting art pieces to my independent study under Creative Director, Peter Levin. I truly felt connected to the audience, the campaign, and my work as a whole. I had a completely different understanding of what Advertising & Design meant after this project.

“TRUE BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF EVERY BEHOLDER”

TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY VISIBILITY

HUNTER SCHAEFER She/Her

“I just want to say trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing,” she concluded defiantly. “I'm never going to stop being trans.”

ASIA KATE DILLON They/Them

“I think that it's important to say that trans people exist, and we are valid, whether we choose to transition or not. It's really up to anyone to decide what is going to make them feel the most like themselves.”

ELLIOT PAGE He/Him

“Trans people know who we are, and we should be free to embrace our authentic selves.”
